WHO webinar on DHIS2 packages for HIV, TB, hepatitis and STIs

25 March 2026 09:00 – 15:30 CET
Webinar

Please join us for a global WHO webinar on 25 March 2026 showcasing the latest DHIS2 packages for HIV, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). This is built on WHO standards to support stronger routine data systems, surveillance, and program decision-making.

The session will feature technical overviews of the updated TB and HIV/Hepatitis/STI trackers, live demonstrations, country experience sharing, and a panel discussion on strengthening case surveillance and measuring impact, followed by Q&A.

Background

As the public health response to HIV, TB, viral hepatitis and STIs intensifies its focus on closing persistent gaps in prevention, testing and treatment, the need for smarter, more responsive data systems has never been greater.  An evolution in the underlying routine data systems is needed to identify epidemiological patterns and service gaps, and accelerate targeted high impact interventions. The rapid expansion in health data and its critical role in decision making requires sustained strategic investment in digital systems. The transition from paper-based to digital systems offers opportunities to greatly improve patient-centred care and global health.

To support this transformation, WHO released strategic information and surveillance guidance on HIV, TB, viral hepatitis and STIs, which focuses on the collection and use of data across prevention, testing and treatment, to longer-term health care. These resources present a standard minimum dataset, priority indicators and recommendations to strengthen surveillance and programmatic use of data.

WHO has also released data software packages for HIV, TB, viral hepatitis and STIs based on WHO standards and policy guidance using the free and open-source District Health Information System 2 (DHIS2) software platform. Specific DHIS2 Trackers for TB as well as for HIV case surveillance and HIV prevention (both of which include modules for hepatitis and STIs), are designed to record individual-level and longitudinal data. New updates and packages are available for TB, HIV and hepatitis.
